Temporary Injuries & Conditions

Temporary injuries and medical conditions can sometimes create barriers that affect participation in academic activities. Students experiencing a temporary condition who believe they may need accommodations or other support are encouraged to contact Disability Support Services (DSS) as soon as possible.

Examples may include broken bones, sprains, surgeries, concussions, and other short-term medical conditions.

Documentation

Documentation may be requested to help DSS understand the nature of the condition, expected recovery period, current limitations, and other relevant medical information.

Serious Illness or Hospitalization

Students experiencing hospitalization, serious illness, extended absences, or other significant medical situations may also benefit from contacting the Office of the Dean of Students.
