Student Testing Guide

Students approved for testing accommodations may use the DSS Testing Centers to complete quizzes, tests, and exams. Students who plan to use testing accommodations are responsible for scheduling exams through the DSS Portal and following applicable deadlines and procedures.

Students are encouraged to review the Testing Center Expectations and Hours & Operations pages before scheduling exams.

Students may contact the DSS Testing Center at any time with questions about scheduling exams or existing exam requests.

Scheduling an Exam

Students may schedule quizzes, tests, and exams with the DSS Testing Center through the DSS Portal.

  1. Log in to the DSS Portal.
  2. Select Test Requests from the menu.
  3. Select New Booking Request.
  4. Select the course.
  5. Select Add Optional Filters and choose either Main Campus or Health Sciences Campus (HSC).
  6. Select the exam date.
  7. Choose a start time by selecting Request beside the preferred testing time.
  8. Review the request and select Submit Request.

Important Scheduling Reminders

  • Students should schedule exams at least five business days before the exam date.
  • Students should generally schedule exams for the same date and time as the class exam.
  • Students who have a class conflict or approved accommodation that affects scheduling may provide additional information when reviewing their request before submission.
  • Students who experience scheduling difficulties before the deadline should contact DSS as soon as possible.
  • Final Exams Deadline: The deadline to schedule final exams occurs approximately two weeks before the start of final exams. DSS will communicate the deadline through email, the DSS website, the DSS Portal, and signs around the DSS Testing Center.

Reviewing Exam Requests

Students may review the status of scheduled exams through the DSS Portal.

  1. Log in to the DSS Portal.
  2. Select Test Requests from the menu.

New requests will appear under Pending Booking Requests while they are being reviewed and processed. Once the instructor provides the necessary exam information, DSS will approve the request and it will appear under Approved Booking Requests.
